Violet Betty Constable (95) died in her sleep of natural causes on Friday, April 3rd. Betty, as most people knew her, was born in Newmarket, England, the daughter of Florence (Fleet) Bond and Ernest Bond on February 18, 1925. Betty came to America on a ship with a six week old baby in the Spring of 1946 as a war bride. She reunited with her husband, Bob, and they moved to West Kill, N.Y. where they lived most of their married life. Betty is predeceased by her husband Robert Constable Sr., her daughter Betty (Constable) Hendrickson and her son Robert Constable Jr. Betty is survived by her daughter Joyce (Constable) Steiner and her son Eugene and wife Susan (Finn) Constable, granddaughter Michele (Constable) and husband Michael Radcliffe, grandson Jason and wife Jennifer (Main) Steiner, and granddaughters Sarah (Hendrickson) and husband Richard Alden, and Shawn Steiner (Leslie McGhee), granddaughter Amanda (Constable) and husband Joseph Murphy, grandson Jeremy and wife Allyson (Imperiale) Constable, granddaughter Angela (Constable) and husband John Luvena and 15 great-grandchildren.
There will be no service at this time, a memorial will be planned for the future at the West Kill Cemetery. Services will be held in the future at the Aston & Basagic Funeral Home in Hunter, NY.
