In Loving Memory of Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Parslow Reich

Elizabeth Ann Parslow Reich, 80, passed on Friday October 30, 2020.
Born February 14, 1940 at her family home in Hunter, NY, Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Parslow Reich was the daughter of Melissa May Rion Parslow and Joseph Parslow Sr.

Betty loved her hometown and the Hunter Mountain community, and dedicated most of her life to serving it. Her early years were spent as an operator for the Hunter-Tannersville Telephone Company and employed by Colonial Coal Yard. She went to work for the Greene County Department of Motor Vehicle. Betty was then appointed Deputy County Clerk of Greene County, where she served for many years before retirement.

She was the former longtime Mountain Top Republican Chairman, a lifelong member of the Greene County Republican Party, and a member of the Tannersville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Betty was an active member of Hunter-Tannersville Central Alumni Class of ‘57, alongside her classmates and friends whom she loved dearly. She was a faithful member of the Lighthouse Bible Church, in Hunter. Many in the community remember Betty for her years
running the famous Kartoffel Haus (Potato House) at Hunter Mountain and working the election polls.

Betty was a giving and generous woman; always putting others first, whether it was family or people in the community.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William E. Reich; two children, Wendy E. Reich-Klein (Michael) and Glenn W. Reich (Jennifer); Her two brothers, Henry (Hank) Parslow (Hedy) and John E. Parslow Sr. (Arlene); Her sister-in-law, Karen A. Reich; Carol Shaw; Grandchildren, Kendra (Thomas), Glenn, Brittany (Robert), Michael, Zachary, Abigayil, and Macy; Great Grandchildren, Evan (Thomas), Dylan, and Willow; and many beloved nieces,
nephews, and cousins.

Betty was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Parslow Jr.; and her sisters Marion, Amelia, and Ruth Parslow.
