Andreá (Andrew) Di Palermo “Andy”, 84, died Monday December 27, 2021 in his home surrounded by loved ones. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was a patriot through and through, a mans man with the gentle touch of a craftsmen. He danced through life with a twinkle in his eye and a song in his soul. Born in NewYork, NY August 30, 1937, he was the son of late Giuseppe Di Palermo and Concetta Marie Di Palermo. He enlisted in the U.S Army in 1954 where he proudly served his country. After retiring from the Army he resided in Flushing, NY where he became a plumber by trade, worked for UPS and raised his family with his beautiful wife Anne Di Palermo. He than moved up to Hunter, Ny in 1986 where he was a business owner of Di Palermo’s American Italian Deli and Andy’s Garden Center for 18 years before retiring.
He was a member of The American Legion, The Lions Club and The Haines Falls Fire Department. One thing you can take from knowing Andy is to do all things with integrity and follow your heart. A lover of his country, family, plants, Stewarts coffee, red wine with Pepsi and chocolate chip cookies. His love for his family, country and community never went unnoticed. Andy is Survived by his beloved wife, Anne Di Palermo, 4 daughters, Debbie Ventre, Andrea Morabito, Denise Lennon and Michele Tyjer, his 3 son-in-laws, Edward Ventre, Gerard Lennon and Gregory Tyjer, his 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and an unbelievable amount of friends. Predeceased by his Father Giuseppe Di Palermo, Mother Concetta Marie Di Palermo, Brother Bernard Di Palermo and Son-in- law Joseph Anthony Morabito Memorial services will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church 67 North Lake Rd. Haines Falls, NY 12436. Followed by a burial service at Saint Frances DeSales Cemetery Rt. 16/ Platte Clove Rd. Elka Park, NY 12427 Due to covid we will be having a celebration of life in the summer to later be announced.
